This is a sad post, but I needed to write it.

This post is about a friend that I lost.

On September 2, 2013 Patrick Sparrow left this world behind. On March 14, 2013 he was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma also known as liver cancer. This type of cancer is pretty rare, you can learn more about it here.

Patrick Sparrow was my supervisor at work and more importantly my friend. I hated my job, and myself when I went to his team. (I've suffered with self image and depression throughout my life.) When I first introduced myself to Patrick he just looked at me like I was an alien from another galaxy. It was the oddest moment, later he came up to me with the "iPatch Articles of Agreement" and told me I needed to sign it. Once signed, he walked away. I had really thought at the time that he hated me although I hadn't even had an actual conversation with him. It turned out that because I wasn't officially on the team, that was just the Sparrow we all love and know.

Over the next 9ish months, we became better friends. Our team theme at work is pirates, team iPatch. In October of 2012 there was a dress up day for Halloween, I convinced the team (well most of them) to dress up like Steam Punk Pirates. This from left to right. Patrick Sparrow, Mel, myself, and Matt.

He made a job I hated and could care less about into a job that I like and now care about. He made me strive to be better, and set goals for myself. Not only that but he knew how to take a really bad day and turn it into a great day. For whatever reason it seemed as though Sparrow knew when I was having a terrible day when he wasn't even around because I'd get random texts from him of pictures of sea otters (he knew how much I loved them).

Sparrow was always there for his team. Even when he was busy or had to leave, if anyone on the team needed something, work related or personal, he would make time for you. He would stay after work to talk to you if need be. Sparrow will live on in the lives of those he touched, changed, and helped. He left an imprint on this world, and I don't think he'll ever know how much of an impact he made on the lives of everyone around him.

A little about me.

Hey all!

I will be blogging about general things regarding myself and my life so I hope you stick with me. A little about me.. hmm.. that's pretty tricky. I met the love of my life 5 years ago, we've had our ups and downs but I truly love my man. He supports a lot of my life choices (more on that later). I have two cats, Oliver and Lily, they both are amazing pets. I let my mom move in with Jake and myself so we have her and her cat as well, Jasmine. I may post photos of them at some point. I've been working for a call center for the last year and some odd months. It's pretty decent. I mean every job has its ups and downs. Other than that in my spare time I game, yes I know a girl that games?! We'll again talk more on that later. I love the Zoo and love animals, I was going to school for zoology however life happened and that is on ice for now (since most say the back burner... well it's not even close). My mother and I are in the first stages of building a business. She is the owner of Simply Delicious MN and I am the website admin as well as manager. We're working towards opening a store front bakery but for now we'll keep working as is.

I'm going to end this first post on that note, and will be back as soon as I can.
